Known as the "Black Ghost," Godfrey and his Challenger became a mythic presence in the Detroit street racing scene throughout the 1970s.

Godfrey Qualls, a young African American man, lived a life of contrasts, balancing his duties as a police officer while racing his custombuilt HEMI Challenger on the streets of Detroit. He ordered his dream car with the monstrous 426 HEMI engine and a plethora of performance and style options, making it a true rarity in the muscle car world.

In the street racing scene, Godfrey was known as the "Black Ghost" due to his ability to seemingly vanish for months after making a few highstakes runs on Woodward, Telegraph, or Stecker St. He was rarely defeated, and the legend of the Black Ghost grew with each victory.

As the years passed, Godfrey reenlisted in the Army, got married, and started a family. The Challenger became the family's only car for a time, but eventually, it was retired to the garage as life's responsibilities took precedence. The car remained in the garage throughout Godfrey's life, protected from the elements but not from the curious eyes of his beloved son, Gregory.

After Godfrey's passing in 2016, Gregory, his wife Charmaine, and their children worked together to bring the Black Ghost back to life as a tribute to Godfrey. Today, the Challenger, still unrestored with just over 45,000 miles, is a testament to the incredible life and legend of Godfrey Qualls.

By the end of the year, especially if reviews and word of mouth are strong, sales could reach upwards of 5 million units, translating to approximately $300M.

Lifetime Sales

Over the game's lifecycle, and with potential expansions or sequels, sales might reach 10-15 million units. This amounts to $600M-$900M in revenue.

Additional Revenue Streams

Microtransactions, expansion packs, or in-game purchases could add 10-20% more revenue, especially in the long run..

Subscription Box Synergy

The tie-in with the subscription box might promote game sales, and conversely, game success might boost subscription numbers. This crosspromotion can add an estimated 5% in revenue for both the game and the subscription box.

Risks & Variables: Competition

Other big AAA releases around the same time might impact initial sales.

Reception

User and critic reviews can significantly sway sales numbers.

Post-Launch Support

Continuous game updates, patches, and content can either boost or hinder sales based on quality and frequency.

Synopsis

The Black Ghost Video Game Series presents a promising venture into the gaming industry, capitalizing on the popular open-world genre while offering a fresh narrative angle. Conservative estimates, given strong marketing and good reception, place potential revenue between $600M to $1B over the game's lifecycle. The cross-promotion with other Black Ghost franchise elements, like the subscription box, further strengthens its market position. However, its success, like all games, will depend on execution, reception, and post-launch support.

1. User Base and Engagement Active Monthly Users:

Let's predict a conservative 2% penetration rate in the U.S., giving us approximately 6 million monthly users.

2. In-app Purchases
  • On average, about 5% of mobile game users make in-app purchases.
  • Assuming an average spend of $5 per month per paying user: 6,000,000 \times 0.05 \times $5 = $1,500,000 per month or $18,000,000 annually from in-app purchases alone
3. Sponsored Locations:
  • Local businesses pay to be featured as special mission spots.

Let's say 1,000 businesses across the U.S. take up this opportunity at a rate of $200 per month: 1,000 \times $200 = $200,000 per month or $2,400,000 annually.

4. Advertisements
  • Given the engagement levels, let's assume an average user views 10 ads per month.
  • Assuming an average CPM (cost per thousand impressions) of $10: 6,000,000 \times 10 / 1,000 \times $10 = $600,000 per month or $7,200,000 annually from ads.
5. Exclusive Content Access & Partnerships:
  • Assume a partnership with major brands, exclusive content deals, and more:
  • Approximately $5,000,000 annually.
Total Potential Revenue:

$18,000,000 + $2,400,000 + $7,200,000 + $5,000,000 = $32,600,000 annually.

Real revenue would be determined by the game's actual success, marketing efforts, user engagement, and other

DETROIT AFTER

THE BLACK GHOST CHRONICLES
A LATE-NIGHT ADULT-THEMED ANIMATED

In the underbelly of 1970s Detroit, the neon lights cast long, dangerous shadows. These shadows are the domain of the Black Ghost. Our series, "Detroit After Dark: The Black Ghost Chronicles," sits at the intersection of history, culture, and raw, urban conflict. It is adult animation that, when fused with its live-action counterpart, delivers a narrative so synergistic, it will define the next era of episodic storytelling.

Setting & Theme

"Detroit After Dark" masterfully traverses the richness of 1970s Motor City, where every alleyway hums with stories. From sultry jazz bars to tension-filled streets echoing Motown beats, our narrative dives deep into a city's soul, its sociopolitical challenges, and its desperate need for a hero.

Central Character: Gregory "GQ" Qualls

Godfrey, a war veteran with a Purple Heart, now serves Detroit in two capacities: A diligent police officer by day and the enigmatic Black Ghost by night. This duality is reminiscent of "Dexter's" Morgan, embodying the best and worst of a city.

Tying In the Live-Action Series

While the animated series chronicles the covert nocturnal escapades of Godfrey, the live-action series can delve into his daylight challenges: racism, personal struggles, and political turmoil. The animation captures the abstract, symbolic, and hyper-real, whereas the live-action counterpart offers gritty realism. Together, they provide viewers a complete, immersive experience. Think "Sin City" meets "The Wire."

Expanding the Black Ghost Ecosystem

Interactive App

Augmenting the animated series, the app will offer audiences a means to explore Detroit's landmarks, dive into character backstories, and engage with episodic mysteries.

Merchandise

From collectibles like Godfrey's signature attire to vinyl figures of Detroit's dark alleys, there's a tangible world waiting for fans.

Network Integration and Potential Success

Aiming for platforms that champion mature themes, Adult Swim or HBO Max could be the rightful home. Given the surge in adult-centric animations like "Bojack Horseman" and "Rick and Morty," our series could be the novel, boundarypushing content these networks

yearn for. By mirroring strategies that made The Witcher" successful on Netflix - offering fans both live-action and animated content, 'Detroit After Dark' is positioned to garner a diverse, dedicated fanbase.

Conclusion

Conclusion "Detroit After Dark: The Black Ghost Chronicles" isn't just a pitch-it's a multi-pronged vision for the future of storytelling. It aims to redefine episodic content, straddling two mediums, and engage fans across multiple platforms. Considering the current

media landscape, the thirst for mature animated content, and the proven success of multi-platform franchises, our series is not just apt but timely. Dive into the realm of the Black Ghost, and let's together create the next monumental wave in entertainment.

Challenges

Quality Control Mitigation:

Involve original creators in the judging process. Look at HBO's commitment to quality in series like "Game of Thrones".

Production Costs Mitigation

Use a mixed funding model. BBC's "Doctor Who" gets funding from license fees, but also from merchandise, ticket sales from tours, and international sales.

Market Saturation Mitigation:

Brand the show uniquely. The way "Stranger Things" on Netflix tapped into 80s nostalgia, highlight the 70s Detroit backdrop for differentiation.

Fanbase Reaction Mitigation:

Hold fan forums or conventions like the way DC engages fans with DC Fandome. Maintain transparency with the fanbase

Moving Forward

Engage with networks that have a track record for unique content. HBO, Netflix, or Amazon Prime could be potential platforms. Consider reaching out to executives like Casey Bloys (HBO) or Cindy Holland (Netflix) who've backed innovative content in the past. Conduct market analysis and hold focus groups, maybe in collaboration with a reputable media research firm like Nielsen.
